Basic goal of good oral hygiene is to have clean teeth and gums ( should be pinkish) and no bad breath.

Every time we eat, food residues may remain in the mouth and attach itself to tooth surfaces. If these residues will stay for a longer period of time, it may form plaque or calculus that will promote tooth decay which leads to dental problems. To prevent dental problems we need to have a good oral hygiene.

To attain our goal we need to:

Brush teeth at least twice a day for at least 3 minutes
Use soft bristle brush and quality brand toothbrushes only
Use toothpaste with fluoride unless specified by your dentists not to use one
Avoid smoking cigarettes and chewing tobacco
Use floss to clean the area between the teeth. Don’t use tooth pick as it may damage the gums
Avoid too much sweets, it is usually the cause tooth decay if left on the surface of the teeth for a long time.
